Upland Game Bird
What to Expect
This package includes a 3–6 day upland hunt based out of a modern cabin equipped with all the comforts of home. You’ll be provided with a detailed map and guidance on where—and how—to hunt Manitoba’s incredible grouse country.
Hunt on foot with your dog through winding trails and thick cover, or use ATVs and vehicles to access remote areas depending on your preference. Hunting parties stay at the lodge for the duration of their trip and are responsible for their own meals. The lodge features a fully equipped kitchen with cookware, utensils, and everything you need to prepare hearty meals after a long day in the field.
Your upland game bird tag includes opportunities for Ruffed Grouse, Sharp-tailed Grouse, and Spruce Grouse. The best part? You’ll rarely run into another hunter. This region remains one of Manitoba’s best-kept secrets—a hidden gem for bird hunters looking for solitude, wild country, and honest hunting.
The Hunt
This hunt offers endless opportunity for the dedicated upland hunter. With miles upon miles of trails and backcountry routes, you can spend full days exploring the wild—whether on foot with your dog or by ATV.
Each hunter is allowed a daily limit of six birds per species of grouse, and daily limit of four Hungarian(Gray) Partridge, with a two-day total possession limit. Your upland game bird tag includes Hungarian Partridge, Ruffed Grouse, Sharp-tailed Grouse, and Spruce Grouse.
The lodge comfortably accommodates up to seven hunters and provides everything you need for a comfortable stay. You’ll be responsible for your own meals, but the cabin includes a full kitchen equipped with all cookware and utensils.
Season Dates: October 10 – October 30
Guided and Unguided Packages Available
We’ll provide a detailed map and point you toward productive hunting areas tailored to your experience level and expectations—whether you want to hike the thick cover, run your dog through open trails, or ride deeper into the wild.
Work your dog
This hunt is the perfect opportunity to get your dog out doing what they were born to do. Walking the pristine trails with your bird dog by your side makes for unforgettable days in the backwoods—moments that stick with you long after the hunt is over.
We highly encourage hunters to bring their dogs along for the adventure. It’s as much their hunt as it is yours.
