True North Trophy Adventures offers exclusive access to a vast, remote moose hunting territory in northern Manitoba. Located roughly 120 air miles north of Thompson and accessible only by float plane, this area sees very little hunting pressure due to its remoteness.
A Truly Exclusive Hunting Area
This hunting zone is protected through a long-standing agreement with the Split Lake First Nation. Hunters who harvest a moose share a portion of the meat with the community, helping support elders in Split Lake. In return, there is no local hunting or fishing pressure in the area, keeping wildlife populations strong and the experience truly remote and undisturbed.

- Fishing for northern pike and walleye is available throughout your stay

Idyllic Landscape & Wildlife
This region is one of the finest moose habitats in North America. A mix of lakes, rivers, boreal forest, swamp, and burn-affected growth creates ideal conditions for strong moose populations. The result is a remote wilderness with excellent glassing and calling opportunities.

Included In Your Moose Hunt
Your moose hunting package also includes the opportunity to use any unused big game tag during the fall for timber wolf or coyote, where regulations allow. Many hunters view the timber wolf as a unique and highly valued trophy, adding an extra level of excitement to the experience.
On average, a small number of wolves are harvested each year during moose hunts, with guests occasionally taking advantage of these additional opportunities when conditions and timing align.

Fish the Wlld North
While on your moose hunt, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy some exceptional fishing right from camp. Whether you're targeting hard-fighting Northern Pike or delicious Walleye, the Churchill River is renowned for its world-class angling opportunities.
With miles of pristine water and healthy fish populations, it's not uncommon to catch trophy-sized pike and quality walleye within minutes of camp and even off the shore line at camp. It's the perfect way to relax between hunts, or simply experience another incredible aspect of Manitoba's northern wilderness.
Manitoba Hunting Regulations
To legally hunt in Manitoba, anyone born after January 1, 1951, or any first-time hunter must complete a certified Hunter Education course, either from Manitoba or another province. The most convenient way to get certified is through the online Huntercourse.com program, which costs $65.00 + GST and allows you to learn at your own pace. You must be at least 12 years old to get certified and purchase a hunting license. Once passed, your Hunter Education Card never expires.
How to Get Your Card

- Complete the Work: Read the material, take chapter quizzes, and pass the final exam.
- Print: After completing the online course, you can immediately print out your permanent Hunter Education Card and voucher to buy your hunting license.

Ethics & Responsibility
At True North Trophy Adventures, we take wildlife management seriously and are committed to maintaining healthy populations and high-quality hunting opportunities for all guests. Our hunts are conducted on a fair-chase basis. This is real hunting in remote wilderness, offering a rare chance to experience areas few people ever see.
Once a hunter has taken a shot at an animal, that portion of the hunt is considered complete unless there is clear evidence of a wound. Every reasonable effort will be made to recover any wounded animal.
Before your hunt, our team will go over:
- Proper identification and judging of moose
- Ethical shot placement
- Field decision-making to support clean, responsible harvests
Our goal is to ensure every guest is prepared, confident, and aligned with ethical hunting practices while enjoying a safe and rewarding experience in the Manitoba wilderness.
What to Expect in the Field
Conditions can change quickly, and opportunities may come at any time—early in the hunt or in the final moments of your last day. Shot opportunities may be brief, so preparation is essential.
We strongly recommend that hunters:

- Practice extensively with your chosen firearm or archery equipment well in advance
- Be prepared to make quick, ethical, and responsible shot decision
